Child Psychiatry
Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment for ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, conduct disorders, and tic disorders.
Child psychiatry deals with the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of mental, behavioral, and developmental disorders in children aged 3-12. Early diagnosis and proper intervention during this period directly impact a child's academic success, social relationships, and overall quality of life.
Services we offer within child psychiatry at our clinic:
• Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): Comprehensive evaluation of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity symptoms. Accurate diagnosis through neuropsychological tests, teacher and parent feedback. Medication, behavioral interventions, and school accommodation programs.
• Anxiety Disorders: Separation anxiety, social phobia, generalized anxiety disorder, specific phobias, and selective mutism. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)-based treatment protocols and medication support when needed.
• Autism Spectrum Disorder: Early detection of social communication difficulties, repetitive behaviors, and restricted interests. Comprehensive autism evaluation with standardized assessment tools (ADOS-2, ADI-R). Individualized education and treatment plans.
• Depression: Careful evaluation considering that childhood depression may present with symptoms different from adults. Recognition of atypical symptoms such as irritability, school refusal, and somatic complaints.
• Learning Disabilities: Detection of specific learning disorders including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. Comprehensive evaluation with intelligence and academic achievement tests.
• Conduct Disorders: Oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, anger management issues. Family therapy and behavior modification programs.
• Tic Disorders: Evaluation of motor and vocal tics, Tourette syndrome diagnosis and treatment.
• Enuresis and Encopresis: Evaluation of organic and psychological aspects of daytime or nighttime incontinence issues.
Our treatment process is conducted with a multidisciplinary approach. We combine psychotherapy, medication, family counseling, and school collaboration programs according to your child's individual needs.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a child psychiatrist and a psychologist?
A child psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe medication and perform medical evaluations. A psychologist provides psychotherapy but cannot prescribe medication.
How is ADHD diagnosed?
Diagnosis involves comprehensive clinical evaluation, developmental history, teacher and parent feedback, and neuropsychological testing. A single test cannot establish diagnosis.
Does my child have to take medication?
No, medication is not required in every case. Psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, and family counseling may be sufficient in many situations. Medication decisions are made collaboratively with families.
